We greatly appreciate your interest in supporting the mission and work of The Peak Military Care Network (PMCN). Thanks to tax-deductible donations like yours, PMCN can continue to connect the needs of our community’s military service members, veterans and their families to the highest quality resources by providing a central source for information and services. PMCN is a program of the National Homeland Defense Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
PMCN has had many success stories including this one from a young man named Brian B., a Soldier stationed at Fort Carson, who suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in January 2009. He had wanted to make the Army his career but his injury forced a medical retirement and he exited the military much more suddenly than he and his family had planned. Also, because of his injury, Brian was making bad decisions and “blew through a lot of cash”. His family was struggling and when they first moved into new housing after Brian’s discharge, they had nothing. Once Brian and his family got connected to the services of PMCN partner agencies (including financial assistance, cognitive therapy for Brian’s TBI, and other assistance), “it was a blessing… they guided us in the right direction and we got linked with lots of resources. We are now paying all our bills on time.” Brian wants to go back to school to be a music teacher.
